Terms & Conditions
Terms governing participation in the Hospitality Venture Club.
Overview
These Terms & Conditions govern the application for and participation in the Hospitality Venture Club, an initiative of Swiss Hospitality Investment Club GmbH (“HVC”, “we”, “us”). By submitting an application, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Scope
These Terms & Conditions apply to all applicants and selected participants of the Hospitality Venture Club. Additional terms may apply to specific events, investor meetings or programme activities.
2. Eligibility and application
Participation is open to startups and companies with a connection to the hospitality, travel, real estate, technology or related industries.
Applications must be submitted through the official application form and within the stated deadline. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted is accurate, complete and up to date.
Submitting an application does not create any right to be selected, invited, funded or otherwise supported. HVC selects participants at its sole discretion.
3. Participation
Participation in the Hospitality Venture Club is free of charge for selected startups, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Selected participants agree to:
- Take part in relevant programme activities, pitch sessions or meetings.
- Provide accurate and non-misleading information.
- Inform HVC of any material changes to their company or application.
- Act professionally towards the organising team, jury members, mentors, investors and other participants.
HVC may remove a participant from the programme if the participant provides false information, acts inappropriately, breaches these Terms & Conditions or no longer meets the programme requirements.
4. Pitch materials and intellectual property
Applicants and participants retain all rights to their ideas, brands, materials, documents, pitch decks and intellectual property.
By submitting application materials, you grant HVC a limited, non-exclusive right to use, store, review and share those materials with jury members, mentors, and invited investors involved in the programme for the purpose of administering the application process and the programme.
Where you have given consent, HVC may share selected materials with jury members, mentors and invited investors involved in the programme.
No transfer of intellectual property rights takes place unless separately agreed in writing.
5. Confidentiality
HVC will treat non-public application materials with appropriate care and will not publish them without your consent.
However, applicants and participants acknowledge that pitch sessions, jury reviews, investor discussions and networking formats may involve third parties. Unless a separate non-disclosure agreement has been signed, jury members, mentors, investors and other third parties may not be bound by a specific confidentiality obligation.
You should not submit or present trade secrets or highly confidential information that you are not willing to disclose in this context.
6. No investment advice or funding guarantee
The Hospitality Venture Club provides a platform for selected startups to present their ventures and connect with relevant stakeholders.
Participation does not constitute investment advice, financial advice, legal advice or any guarantee of investment, partnership, commercial success or future business opportunity.
Any investment, partnership or commercial arrangement is solely a matter between the relevant parties and may be subject to separate due diligence, negotiation and documentation.
7. Communication and publicity
HVC may use the name, logo and publicly available information of selected participants for programme-related communication, unless the participant objects in writing.
Any broader publicity, press release or publication of non-public information will require prior coordination with the participant.
8. Liability
HVC organises and operates the programme with reasonable care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HVC accepts no liability for indirect damages, loss of profit, loss of business opportunities, unsuccessful fundraising, failed partnerships or decisions made by jury members, mentors, investors or other third parties.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits liability for intent, gross negligence or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Changes to the programme
HVC may modify, postpone, suspend or cancel the programme, events, selection process or individual activities at any time for organisational, commercial, legal or other reasons.
HVC will make reasonable efforts to inform affected applicants or participants of material changes.
10. Data protection
The processing of personal data in connection with the website, application and programme is described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Swiss law, excluding conflict of law rules.
The place of jurisdiction is the registered seat of Swiss Hospitality Investment Club GmbH, to the extent permitted by law.
